Off the coast of Sakhalin, the Chinese vessel "An Yang 2," carrying fuel oil, coal, and diesel, ran aground due to strong currents, reports NewsBox.

The Chinese cargo ship "An Yang 2" became stranded near the port of Nevelsk, off the coast of Sakhalin. According to media reports, the incident was caused by a loss of control due to strong currents.

There are 20 people on board the ship, all of whom are safe, with no reported injuries. The vessel is transporting a large cargo — 1,000 tons of coal, 706 tons of fuel oil, and 56 tons of diesel. Currently, there is no recorded fuel spill.

Due to adverse weather conditions, rescue operations to free the ship have not yet commenced. Tugs are on standby in the area, and specialists are assessing possible evacuation methods for the vessel, awaiting improvements in the sea conditions.
