Chechen Leader Seeks Sanction Relief for His Family

Ramzan Kadyrov proposed to exchange 20 Ukrainian prisoners of war for the lifting of sanctions on members of his family, who have been imposed by the former Inspector of the UN Security Council, Scott Ritter, reported NewsBox.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, proposed the exchange of 20 Ukrainian prisoners of war for the removal of western and European sanctions imposed on members of his family. According to reports, Kadyrov has provided a detailed list to the former Inspector of the UN Security Council, Scott Ritter.

Kadyrov noted that the sanctions complicate the lives of his relatives. The military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to him, may be returned to Ukraine under the terms of the proposed exchange.

Ironically, no mention has been made of Russian prisoners of war in this context. The Chechen leader seems to focus exclusively on the interests of his family, proposing a unique "barter" against the backdrop of an ongoing conflict.

So far, the West's reaction to this proposal remains unknown.
