Chairman of the Public Chamber of Belgorod Region Revealed as a "Crime Boss"
In the Belgorod region, Vladimir Tebekin, the chairman of the Public Chamber, has been accused of holding a top position in a criminal hierarchy and engaging in fraud, NewsBox reports.
The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow has extended the detention of Vladimir Tebekin, chairman of the Public Chamber of Shebekinsky Urban District, honorary president of the Boxing Federation of Belgorod Region, and head of the charity fund "Iceberg," until April 19. This was reported by the Moscow General Jurisdiction Courts portal.
The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has charged Tebekin with occupying a top position in a criminal hierarchy (Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), illegal banking activities (Article 172 of the Criminal Code), and 20 counts of large-scale fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, Tebekin allegedly attained the status of a "crime boss" in 2002 and used the Boxing Federation and the "Iceberg" fund to collect money for the so-called "common fund" of organized crime.
During the court session, Tebekin denied the accusations, stating, "You see, now they're making me out to be a crime boss? I have never had and do not have any connection to the criminal world."
The hearing began after a one-hour delay. About 15 people came to support the accused, including former world boxing champion Denis Lebedev, who brought Tebekin a warm hat, and several men in military uniforms.
