Buryatia Resident Sentenced to Seven Years for Comment and 500 Rubles Transfer

A resident of Buryatia, Alexey Badmaev, was sentenced to seven years in prison for transferring 500 rubles and posting a comment on 'VKontakte.', reports NewsBox.
The military court in the 2nd Eastern District Court found Ulan-Ude resident Alexey Badmaev guilty of justifying terrorism and treason. According to the court's press service, he received a seven-year prison sentence.
According to the sentence, Badmaev will spend the first 2.5 years in prison, with the remaining term in a high-security penal colony.
The investigation claims that the convicted publicly supported the paramilitary group "Freedom of Russia," recognized as a terrorist organization, and posted comments related to its activities on 'VKontakte.'
Additionally, the prosecution stated that Badmaev transferred 500 rubles to the 'Russian Volunteer Corps,' which also became a basis for the charges against him.
