Bodies of Former Samara Mayor and His Wife Not Found – Granddaughter Suspected of Dismemberment

The granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov is suspected of the brutal murder and dismemberment of her relatives. According to law enforcement agencies, the young woman may have been forging her grandfather's signatures, selling his property, and concealing the death of the couple since early January, reports NewsBox.

Authorities are considering the possibility that Ekaterina Tarkhova, the granddaughter of the former mayor of Samara, might have killed and dismembered her grandparents. Journalists have discovered that the elderly couple went missing in January, but their acquaintances continued receiving messages from their phones, which were presumably sent by Ekaterina, creating the illusion that they were alive.

Meanwhile, the young woman visited the office of the company "Novitrek," where her grandfather worked, providing documents with his signatures. Additionally, according to one theory, she was selling the former mayor's assets, including a Toyota RAV4, a collection of icons, and other valuables.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and found that Viktor Tarkhov and his wife entered their apartment at the beginning of January but never left. From January 4 to 8, their granddaughter visited the apartment several times and was seen taking out black bags on one occasion. During the investigation, it was revealed that she had bought plastic barrels, which might indicate an attempt to dispose of the bodies.

Ekaterina was detained on February 3 and arrested today. She refuses to cooperate with the investigation, and the bodies of the couple have not been found yet.

Earlier, the media reported that Tarkhov's daughter and granddaughter lost their apartment due to debts amounting to 7 million rubles, which could have been a motive for the crime.
