Bloomberg: U.S. might join peacekeepers in Ukraine

European allies of Ukraine are eager to secure U.S. agreement to participate in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, which according to Bloomberg, could become a crucial condition for transatlantic cooperation, reports NewsBox.
European allies of Kyiv are actively discussing with the U.S. the possibility of sending American peacekeepers to Ukraine as part of security assurances. As Bloomberg reports, despite Donald Trump's initial reluctance in this matter, his stance might soften.
Sources indicate that Trump likely expects Europe to take on more responsibility for ensuring security in exchange for U.S. participation in a potential deal.
Meanwhile, the deployment of a European contingent has been under discussion since the fall of 2024. Kyiv hopes to host 40,000 to 50,000 peacekeepers in the country. If Europe ends up acting independently, it might undermine trust in NATO and challenge the stability of transatlantic cooperation.
