Zelensky Expresses Readiness for Talks with Putin, Contingent on Western Support

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he is open to negotiations with Vladimir Putin, but only if the U.S. and Europe continue to support Ukraine and provide security guarantees, reports NewsBox.
The Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, declared that he is willing to discuss peace settlement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, provided that the West maintains its support for Ukraine and offers security assurances. He made this statement in an interview with ITV News on February 7.
According to Zelensky, the war between Russia and Ukraine could potentially end as early as 2025, as he believes all necessary conditions are in place. He also noted that former U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed interest in swiftly resolving the conflict.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of preventing another military invasion from Russia in the future. Additionally, he mentioned that Ukrainians do not support holding elections during martial law, as this would jeopardize the military's ability to participate in the voting process.
Zelensky expressed confidence that the territories occupied by Ukraine will come back under Kyiv's control once Russia weakens.
