U.S. vs. Europe: Trump Promises Tariffs on EU Goods

U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on goods from the European Union, stating that this would happen "quite soon." According to him, the U.S. imports millions of cars and food products, while Europe barely accepts American goods, reports NewsBox.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced his intention to introduce new tariffs on goods from the EU. Responding to a question from a BBC correspondent about the timeline, he emphasized that this would happen in the near future.

Trump explained that the reason for these measures is the trade imbalance between the U.S. and Europe. He claimed that the American market buys millions of cars and a large volume of agricultural products from the EU, whereas European countries restrict the import of American goods.

"They don’t take our cars, they don’t take our agricultural products. They take almost nothing, while we take everything," he stated.

Additionally, Trump suggested that similar measures could affect the United Kingdom as well.

Earlier on Saturday, the U.S. President announced the imposition of tariffs against Canada, Mexico, and China, triggering a strong reaction from these countries. According to Bloomberg, EU authorities have already warned that if Washington proceeds with new tariffs, they will retaliate forcefully.
