The Kyrgyz National Bank to Allocate All Earned Billions to the State

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan will contribute 100% of its 2024 profits to the state budget, reports NewsBox.

The Kyrgyz National Bank plans to allocate its entire profit for 2024 to the national budget. As stated by the bank's Deputy Chairman, Mels Attoqurov, the exact amount will be determined once the audit, scheduled for early February, is completed. It is anticipated that the bank will transfer between 15 to 20 billion soms, primarily earned through gold and foreign currency operations.

By the end of 2023, the National Bank has already contributed 12.4 billion soms to the budget. Deputy Dastan Bekeshev inquired about the income from the sale of "Keremet Bank," amounting to 7 billion soms, and asked if these funds are included in the regulator's profits. Attoqurov confirmed that they are accounted for.

A bill proposing the transfer of 100% of the National Bank's profits to the budget is currently under review by the Jogorku Kenesh (Supreme Council).
