A meeting took place in Munich between Andriy Yermak, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Keith Kellogg, the special representative of former US President Donald Trump. According to a statement from the Ukrainian President's office, the primary focus was on coordinating efforts aimed at achieving stable peace.
Yermak emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not adhere to established norms and warned against trusting his promises.
"Putin never plays by the rules. Don't let yourself be deceived. Russians respect only strength and look down on those who do not use it," he stated.
According to Yermak, the Kremlin halts its aggression not out of its own desire but under pressure.
Moreover, Yermak expressed confidence that the United States must continue supporting Ukraine. He noted that aid is currently much less costly for the West than a potential confrontation with a strengthened Russia in the future.
Additionally, during the talks, there was discussion about organizing upcoming high-level meetings and the visit of the American special envoy to Ukraine.
