The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case related to a war crime in connection with the attack on the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. According to the investigation, on the night of February 13-14, 2025, Russian military forces launched a strike on the Chernobyl plant using an unmanned aerial vehicle.

The attack resulted in damage to the exterior of one of the plant’s power units and some of the station’s equipment. However, experts report that radiation levels in the exclusion zone have not changed.
