Russian Agent in the SBU? High-Profile Arrest Right at Headquarters

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced the arrest of the head of the Anti-Terrorism Center, who, according to the SBU, was working for the Russian FSB. Vasyl Malyuk, the head of the security service, stated that investigators have proof of 14 incidents demonstrating his activities in favor of the Russian Federation, as reported by NewsBox.

The Security Service of Ukraine revealed that a high-ranking official within the department was actually an agent of the FSB. This morning, SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk personally arrested the head of the Anti-Terrorism Center, who is suspected of providing information to the Russian side.

According to Malyuk, the Ukrainian security service documented 14 instances of data transfer to Russia. The SBU infiltrated the detainee’s electronic devices to gather evidence and covertly monitored his activities. Additionally, counterintelligence officers fed the agent false information to uncover his connections and communication channels.

The SBU emphasized that this case is one of the most significant failures of the Russian intelligence network in Ukraine. The investigation continues, and the suspect may face charges of treason.
