Russia and Uzbekistan Agree on Joint Defense until 2030

Uzbekistan and Russia have signed a strategic partnership program in the military sphere for the years 2026–2030, as reported by NewsBox.
On January 22, the defense ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia formalized a strategic partnership agreement in defense for the period from 2026 to 2030. The signing ceremony took place in Tashkent during the official visit of Russia's Minister of Defense, Andrey Belousov, to Uzbekistan. From the Uzbek side, the document was signed by Defense Minister Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov.
Besides the main agreement, the parties have also settled on a cooperation plan for 2025, which includes 50 joint activities. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and exchanging military expertise.
Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov highlighted the importance of further developing the partnership with Russia, underscoring Uzbekistan's interest in enhancing interaction in the defense sector.
In turn, Andrey Belousov stated that the level of mutual understanding between Moscow and Tashkent remains high, and their cooperation continues to actively expand.
