NATO: Russia Planned Series of Killings Including Head of Rheinmetall

NATO has confirmed that Russia planned an assassination attempt on Armin Papperger, the head of Rheinmetall, a company involved in producing weapons for Ukraine, reports NewsBox.
James Appathurai, the Deputy Assistant Secretary-General of NATO, verified the information about the planned attack on the head of the German company Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger. According to him, the conspiracy was thwarted thanks to the efforts of US and German intelligence services.
Rheinmetall plays a crucial role in supplying arms to Ukraine, making its leader a priority target. The planned assassination of Papperger was allegedly part of a series of similar crimes, but Appathurai did not specify who else might have been on the list of targets.
Reports about the planned assassination of the company's head emerged as early as July 2024. Back then, CNN, citing sources within American intelligence, claimed that Russian special services could be behind the planning of the attack. The Kremlin dismissed this information as "fake" and advised against taking such reports seriously.
