Mass Clashes with Police: A New Wave of Protests in Serbia

Mass protests have erupted again in Serbia, marked by clashes with police and the involvement of various social groups, reports NewsBox

Serbia is witnessing a new wave of large-scale protests that have spread across several cities and escalated into confrontations with law enforcement. In Novi Sad, farmers blocked streets with their tractors, leading to further conflicts with the police.

In Belgrade, tensions remain high, especially on Branko Bridge, where many residents returning home from work join the protest marches. Hospital staff from KBC Zemun and representatives of major online platforms have also joined the strike, supporting the nationwide movement.

The protests intensified following an incident in which a car hit one of the demonstrators. In response, students, farmers on tractors, and bikers headed to the scene of the accident to show their solidarity.

The mass protests began following a tragedy in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, when the collapse of a train station's canopy resulted in 15 fatalities. Since then, protests have spread throughout the country, expressing dissatisfaction with authorities and demanding social justice.
