Germany Offers Syrians Money to Return Home – But No One Leaves

The authorities in Dresden have offered Syrian refugees 1,000 euros to return home following the fall of Bashar Assad's regime. However, none have yet taken up this offer, reports NewsBox.
Dresden, Germany, has announced a support program for Syrians wishing to return home after a change in government in their country. The city is willing to cover expenses for tickets, travel to the airport or bus station, provide medical support, and pay 1,000 euros to each returning individual. Families can receive up to 4,000 euros.
The program was launched after Bashar Assad's regime fell in December. Assad himself has been granted asylum in Russia, while power in Syria has partially shifted to the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. In response, Germany and other countries have suspended accepting asylum applications from Syrians.
Despite these incentives, according to Bild, only four out of 7,433 Syrians living in Dresden applied to return in January, and so far, no one has utilized this opportunity.
