French Doctor on Trial for Alleged Abuse of Hundreds of Children

Former surgeon Joël Le Scouarnec is set to stand trial in France for alleged sexual violence against 299 children. Many of these victims were reportedly abused while under anesthesia, remaining unaware of the incidents for many years, according to NewsBox.

In France, a legal case is being prepared against 73-year-old surgeon Joël Le Scouarnec, who is accused of committing sexual offenses against hundreds of children. Investigations have revealed that between 1989 and 2014, he perpetrated crimes against 299 underage patients.

Some of the victims later recalled that the doctor inappropriately touched them while masquerading these actions as medical examinations. In several instances, these acts were carried out in the presence of parents or medical staff. However, the majority of the victims were in an unconscious state, due to the effects of anesthesia, sedatives, or extreme fatigue and pain.

The allegations against the doctor are based on patient testimonies, evidence from prosecutors, and other discovered evidence. The court hearings are expected to reveal additional details of the case.
