A shooting occurred at a school in the Swedish city of Örebro, leading to at least five people being injured. The police have urged residents to stay indoors, while the national authorities are closely monitoring the situation, reports NewsBox

In Örebro, a city about 200 kilometers west of Stockholm, a shooting took place. According to Reuters and AFP, five people were injured in the incident.

Emergency services, including police, doctors, and rescue workers, are on site. Law enforcement has classified the incident as a serious violent crime.

Reports indicate the shooting started before 1 PM local time. The police are conducting a large-scale operation, advising people to avoid the area.

It has been confirmed that five people have sustained injuries. The incident is currently being investigated as an attempted murder, suspected arson, and a crime with the use of a weapon under aggravating circumstances, according to a police statement. 

Authorities have emphasized that there are no injured police officers, but the situation remains tense.

Preliminary data indicates the shooting erupted in the Komvux building—a learning center for adults, often attended by those who have not completed their school education.

Video footage captured by witnesses shows a significant concentration of police, ambulances, and other emergency services at the scene.
