Explosion at Rheinmetall Military Factory in Spain

An explosion occurred at a military factory of the German company Rheinmetall in Murica, Spain, injuring six workers, reports NewsBox.

The explosion took place at the Rheinmetall Expal Munitions plant, located in the Spanish province of Murcia. Emergency services have reported this, according to the EFE agency. The facility specializes in the production of ammunition and explosives.

As a result of the incident, six plant workers were injured. Five were taken to a medical facility, while one received aid on-site. According to Heraldo, the fire that ignited after the explosion covered an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. Rescue services have already extinguished the blaze.

The newspaper El País suggests that the detonation occurred in one of the storerooms where gunpowder was stored. Experts are currently investigating the causes of the incident.
