The billionaire Elon Musk, known for his support of Donald Trump, attended a pre-election event for the 'Alternative for Germany' (AfD) party, which took place in the city of Halle. Addressing the attendees, he highlighted the significance of German culture and traditions, stating that being proud of one’s national heritage is both normal and important.

Musk added that children and grandchildren should not bear a sense of guilt for their ancestors’ past, but rather the nation should focus on building a bright future.

Musk noted that the upcoming early elections scheduled for February 23 play a critical role not just for Germany, but for all of Europe and even global civilization. He called on voters to actively support AfD, believing that the party offers sensible initiatives such as expanding freedom of speech and reducing government regulation. According to him, the current German government restricts democracy, including penalizing citizens for their statements on social media.

The congress in Halle marked the start of the party's federal electoral campaign. It gathered around 4,000 participants, including AfD leaders Alice Weidel and Tino Chrupalla, although it was accompanied by protest actions.

According to police data, about 9,000 people took to the streets under the slogan 'Stop AfD!' To maintain order, authorities brought in additional law enforcement forces from other regions.
