eBay Marketplace Officially Registers in Uzbekistan

For the first time, the eBay marketplace has officially registered in Central Asia, marking its presence on the tax roll in Uzbekistan, reports NewsBox.
In early 2025, eBay became the first foreign company to officially register for tax in Uzbekistan.
The Swiss entity, eBay Marketplace GmbH, completed its registration on January 17, 2025, and its name was included in the registry of the Republic's Tax Committee.
Since 2020, Uzbekistan has implemented a system for collecting VAT from foreign companies providing electronic services to individuals. The registration process for such companies is managed through the "VAT Office for Internet Companies."
Currently, 27 international companies are registered in the system, including Netflix, Yandex, Google, Samsung, Apple, and Booking.com.
eBay's registration with Uzbekistan's tax authorities is an important step in the development of e-commerce in the country, enabling regulation of taxation for international platforms and increasing state budget revenues.
