Chancellor Candidate of Germany: Germany Must Restore Russian Gas and Lift Sanctions

Alice Weidel, the candidate for Chancellor of Germany from the “Alternative for Germany” party, stated that the sanctions against Russia are detrimental to Germany itself and called for the resumption of Russian gas supplies. In an interview with Bild, she also accused the German authorities of escalating the conflict with Moscow, reports NewsBox.
Alice Weidel, leader of the “Alternative for Germany” party (AfD) and candidate for the Chancellor of Germany, advocated for lifting sanctions against Russia and resuming natural gas supplies. In an interview with Bild, she noted that Germany used to purchase affordable Russian gas through “Nord Stream” and should return to the previous level of cooperation with Moscow.
We want to maintain very good relations with major powers, including Russia. Just two years ago, we were buying cheap natural gas from Russia through the “Nord Stream” consortium. We want to put an end to the sanctions policy, which primarily harms our own country. We have the highest energy prices in the world. We are no longer competitive, stated Weidel.
She also criticized the German government for increasing tensions in relations with Moscow, emphasizing that Germany is supplying weapons and military technology to Kyiv.
Since World War II, German tanks are once again rolling against Russia. Completely ignoring history, emphasized the head of AfD.
In her opinion, Germany must stop the confrontation and start a diplomatic dialogue. Weidel also mentioned her recent meeting with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, where geopolitical issues were discussed.
