Border resolution: Japarov on the new phase of relations with Tajikistan

Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov announced that the border issue with Tajikistan is nearly resolved, and both sides are currently finalizing the necessary documents, reports NewsBox.
The matter of the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is almost settled, said President Sadyr Japarov. He noted that work is being done now to formally document the agreements. The head of state made this statement during an interview with the "Kabar" agency.
If on our side there are houses owned by the citizens of Tajikistan, the Tajik side will relocate them. Similarly, if homes owned by our citizens are on their side, we will move our citizens. We will build new homes for them elsewhere, taking into account the sizes of their plots of land. This way, matters have been addressed considering every square meter of land," Japarov emphasized.
Previously, the undefined borders had repeatedly led to conflicts involving land and pastures. Large-scale clashes occurred on the border in April and May 2021, as well as in September 2022, resulting in many casualties.
