Azerbaijan to Provide $1 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has issued a decree to provide Ukraine with humanitarian assistance amounting to one million US dollars, reports NewsBox.
This was announced by the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.
"Given the current situation in Ukraine, the Azerbaijani government has repeatedly provided humanitarian support to the Ukrainian people," the official statement says.
The funds, allocated from the presidential reserve, are directed towards purchasing electrical equipment necessary for restoring infrastructure and maintaining essential services in the affected regions of Ukraine.
Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Azerbaijan has consistently expressed its support for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Ilham Aliyev has termed the ongoing events as "a great tragedy for both nations" and stated that Azerbaijan openly supports Ukraine's territorial integrity without concealing its stance.
According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by the end of 2024, the total aid provided to Ukraine is expected to reach approximately $40 million. However, despite such support, Azerbaijan has refused to supply weapons to Ukraine.
