After Aktau crash: Azerbaijan Airlines halts Astrakhan flights

Azerbaijan Airlines has temporarily suspended its flights to Astrakhan, citing safety concerns. The decision was prompted by the recurring unavailability of the airspace above the city, reports NewsBox.
Azerbaijan Airlines has chosen to halt its flights on the Baku – Astrakhan – Baku route. The airline's press service stated that the temporary flight ban is in place for an indefinite period due to the unstable situation concerning the airspace over Astrakhan.
It is worth noting that previously, on December 25, an aircraft from this airline, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed during landing in Aktau. Official explanations for the incident are not yet available, and the investigation is ongoing.
Media reports suggest that the aircraft might have been affected due to operations by the Russian air defense, targeting Ukrainian drones.
