Man with machete attacks passengers on Tomsk to Adler train

A 67-year-old man attacked two passengers with a machete on the Tomsk to Adler train, and was apprehended by police officers at Barabinsk station, reports NewsBox.

The assault took place on a passenger train traveling from Tomsk to Adler. The assailant, a 67-year-old man, began behaving aggressively before brandishing a machete and attacking fellow passengers. He struck a woman on the head and also managed to injure another man.

Upon arrival at the Barabinsk station in the Novosibirsk region, the train was met by police who promptly detained the attacker. All passengers were evacuated from the train car, and the injured were transported to the hospital.

A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under articles 30 and 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, relating to attempted murder and preparation for a crime. He is currently in police custody as investigators work to uncover the details of the incident.
